Jupiter and Saturn in Aquarius

On December 16, Saturn will move into Aquarius until March 7, 2023

On December 19, Jupiter will move into Aquarius until May 13, 2021 and again July 29-December 28, 2021

On 21 Saturn and Jupiter will meet in Aquarius for a Grand Conjunction

This is the grand finale of the 2020 story and the end of a 200 year cycle that began with the Industrial Revolution. With Saturn/Jupiter conjunctions occurring in Air signs for the next 200 years or so we should see a move away from the individualistic and materialistic qualities of Earth toward a broader focus on community, ideas, and technology. Real talk: Plagues and the fall of empires also seem to be a major part of the Air portion of this cycle, but there is some comfort I think in knowing that all this has happened before and the world still spins. The question is what will we build when the reset stops?

We got a brief preview of Saturn in Aquarius from March 21- July 1, like it was stopping by to make a list of necessary renovations in that area of your life before moving in. Saturn can be a tough teacher, but if you invest in its long term lessons you will be the better for it. (Last time it was in Aquarius was February 1991-May 1993).

Jupiter brings luck and expansion wherever it goes, so Saturn can be a tempering/sobering influence on Jupiter but Jupiter also lightens Saturn up. Jupiter last visited Aquarius from January 2009-January 2010 so thinking back to then may give you some insight into how Jupiter interacts with that particular part of your chart.

If you know your rising sign, here’s a quick guide to where the focus might be:

Aquarius - 1st house - You: your body, your identity

Capricorn - 2nd house - Your resources: money etc…

Sagittarius - 3rd house - What you're used to: your routines, communications, siblings, neighborhoods,

Scorpio - 4th house - Private life: your home, parents

Libra - 5th house - What you love, create or enjoy: children, art, hobbies, dating

Virgo - 6th house - What you take care of: health, service, employees, pets

Leo - 7th house - Partnerships (of all kinds) and the partners themselves

Cancer - 8th house - External resources (other people’s money),  your values, crises that define those values (sex, death, etc...)

Gemini - 9th house  - That which expands: Philosophy, education, religion, travel

Taurus - 10th house  - Public life: career, honors

Aries - 11th house - Friends, community, society and socializing

Pisces - 12 - Secrets, enemies, isolation or confinement

In 2020, we saw not only an outer planet pileup in late Capricorn (Saturn, Jupiter, Pluto) but Capricorn/Cancer Eclipses and Mars throwing an extended tantrum in Aries.  All of these transits were a major factor in the Covid-19 plotline, so we may indeed see some relief for that on the way as Saturn and Jupiter enter Aquarius, as sign of innovation, social consciousness and outside of the box thinking.

Moving the eclipses to the Mutable signs of Gemini/Sagittarius and Saturn and Jupiter to the Fixed sign of Aquarius should also spread the drama out a little bit, which will be a relief for everyone but those with Cardinal focused charts in particular.

However, waiting for Saturn and Jupiter in the fellow fixed sign of Taurus is Uranus, the planet of Revolution and Surprises.  Those squares will really kick in in January, 2021, so I’m going to save that for another post, but 2021 should be an interesting year, and while it won’t all be positive, there should be a lot more forward motion.
