Gemini/Sagittarius eclipses

December 2020 - December 2021

Finally, at the end of the most Cardinal of years, we’re starting to see the Mutable and Fixed signs get a little more attention.

November 30 and December 14 mark our first full set of  a lunar and solar eclipse in the signs of Gemini and Sagittarius respectively.  We got a brief preview of this around June 5 with a bonus lunar eclipse in Gemini, but this first full set marks the eclipses fully committing their attention to this area of your life for the first time since June 2011-November 2012.  So thinking back to June 5 or 2011/2012 may give you some clues about what story the eclipses may be telling from now until December of 2021.

In general, eclipses correspond to beginnings and endings (like new or full moons on steroids!) They can also relate to big changes or things coming to light. They have a natural three act structure, almost always occurring in three sets (of a lunar and solar eclipse two weeks apart) over about 18 months. The area of affect of an eclipse can be anything from 6 days (three days on either side) to 6 months (when the next set of eclipses occurs).  But the two weeks between two eclipses in a set is worth keeping an eye on.

The amount of impact an eclipse has on you specifically will be determined by where those signs fall in your individual chart and where planets are positioned within them, but if you know your rising sign, here’s a quick key to what area of your life you may want to keep an eye on.

In terms of the November 30 and December 14, 2020 eclipses, from a mundane standpoint, it is worth noting that the December 14th eclipse corresponds the Electoral College vote.

Joe Biden and the United States both have Sagittarius Rising so their Self and Identity will be highlighted that day.  While Kamala Harris as a Gemini Rising will be seeing her Partnerships highlighted.  Donald Trump as a Gemini Sun/Leo Rising however did see the November 30th solar Eclipse highlight his Sun (possibly a last burst of visibility?) but will see December 14 turning the focus to his Children

No aspect operates in isolation, so there are lots of other factors involved, but it’s an interesting case study.
